depends on the pasta thickness and if it freshly made or dry (most commerical off the self(COTS) pasta is dry). If you are at a high altitude it will always take longer but for COTS pasta you find direction on the package. The only sure way is to taste it which you should do at the least time that the package recommends. It should be tender but still firm to the bite ("al dente,") If it taste uncooked, give it another minute, but it will continue to cook a little after you remove it from the stove, so keep that in mind.
I always put it in boiling water and I always make sure that there is room between the pieced of pasta so that they can move around and do not stick together; that is to say, use lot of water and space the pasta as you put it into the water.

You put the pasta into BOILING water.
The cooking time depends on how you want it cooked: al ferro (quite hard), al dente (with some bite) or regular soft.
On pasta packages there are always cooking instructions. About a minute before the indicated time take out a piece of the pasta and taste it. Do so every half or complete minute until the pasta is like you want it.
At that moment, put it in a colander and rinse with cold water. If you don't do this the pasta will continue to cook from the absorbed heat.
Serve immediately.
Bon appetit!

Depends on how much you are cooking. But I would say about 10 minutes. Once the water starts to boil, add in your pasta then wait for the water to return to a boil again. Then turn the heat down a notch. Best way to find out if pasta is done is to do a taste test.

Put the pasta into the still water and boil it for 3 mins. But stir with chopsticks or spoon when u see it starts to boil to ensure all the pasta is well cooked and not stick 2gether.

It depends on how soft you want it to be. 7-10 minutes would be just right. First you boil water, add a little salt and a few drops of oil once it has started to boil and after a few minutes, you may drop the pasta in.

Depends on the type of pasta. I usually boil angel hair pasta about 5-6 minutes, or thin spaghetti about 8-9 minutes.
Times will vary depending on the elevation of where you are at.

Depends on the kind, because there are different thicknesses. Some are only seven minutes, and up from there. Tastes best when al dente - just seems a little underdone. Nothing worse than soggy pasta...
