Where was this? Can you show me an example that I can comment on? Either way if a person that calls themself a Christian reacts in a violent way then I don't think they know what it means to be a Christian.

Was the "truth" you pointed out that some Christians are hateful or was it that the Christian Truth is hatred?
If it was the former...I wouldn't get mad. It's no secret that all Christians are sinners...hate, violence, and hypocrisy being some of the many sins we're capable of.
If it was the latter...it isn't the truth. But it's still no reason to get mad. The world is teeming with un-truths.

I am sorry that some christian called you names. I have a question for you. Why Are you pointing out christian short coming? How come I do not see that you point out others people? IE Muslim, gays and jewish people. They are have done things that have done like holy wars and bombings. Now I am not grouping everyone in those groups as Hate mongers, just those who do it. With that same line, all christian should not group with those who do not follow CHIRST love for all.

Ok I answered and didn't call you names, I didn't get mad at the christianity thing. I got mad(ish) at the Ireland thing and explained in very nice terms. Religion is a very touchy subject, people get annoyed very quickly about it. Its very important to some people. if you're mother was insulted you'd defend her, right? Well thats what its like to some Christians. Its difficult for some people to step back, forget how they feel about something and make a fair judgement. If you don't like being called names then don't ask questions like that.

Well, I think they maybe got mad because you are implying that christianity is related to the terrible things you mention. Just because people who call themselves Christians do things, does not mean that Christianity is the basis for why they do what they do. For example, let's say I have cancer...and I spend all my money on a big trip...and I say I did it because I have cancer. Does that mean cancer is the cause of my behavior or is it an excuse...and I did it for other reasons?
I think you were trying to put down their religion by pointing out some things...if you want to put down Christianity, you need to study it and attack its' most basic premises...not people who are/purport to be Christians...

Hello!! :o) I hope you're OK. I think it's always VERY important to keep in mind that ANYONE can CLAIM to be ANYTHING. Merely stating, "I am a Christian', does not make it so. God tells us that, "Ye shall know them by their fruits." In other words - by what a man DOES. If I told you that I was a 'nice guy' and kept poking you in the eye with a stick - would you believe that I was a 'nice guy'? If a person SAYS that he/she is a Christian and does things [or says things] that are not becoming of one who follows Christ - than you have a perfect right to question what they claim to be. Craig!! :o)

Because you are dealing with people that are very sensitive and protective of their religion. They don't like it when someone points out that others of their same faith have done terrible things in the name of their religion. Don't blame the religion though - blame the people. The religion is just the excuse they use. I've never seen a bible pick up an Uzi.

What is a Christian to you. If the were truly a Christian then they should not get mad but point out the truth to YOU in a Jesus like manner.

Because they're happy to disrespect others and their religons but when you point out that some of the people from their own religon encourage violence and go around bombing abortion clinics and clubs they get frustrated and mad because they know it's true and because they don't know enough about their own religon to stand up for themselves, because I know for a fact that these people could stand up for themselves if they actually learned and studied their own religon instead of going and preaching to others about it and why they should convert to it.
Also bear in mind this is not all christians some christians who actually know what they're on about are really nice people but some who preach to others without knowing some facts of what people from their own religon are doing loose their marbles when it's pointed out to them and they have a lack of knowledge to stand up for themselves!

Firstly they have no answers. Secondly they look bad that some bad apples have disgrace their believe. Thirdly, maybe its the attitude you hold when asking. Fourthly, christians are basically sinners like you and me. Some are more enlightened than others. Some carry on their own fleshly "crusade" of their own soul but have found a new cause to fight for and righteous at that. Fifthly, to lead a life of Christ is easy and at the same time not. For crucifying the flesh is painful.
