Congratulations for nursing your son for 19 months! That's a great achievement. Just remember though that weaning is a process, not an event and it's better for him and you to take it slower. He'll be getting almost all of his nourishment from other sources so you probably won't really have to replace a breastfeeding with a bottle, but you might want to take one nursing session one day and do something else with him. Don't spoil breastfeeding by using salt, lemon because it's something that he loves (that can't be good for you either), but distract him with something you do together. Go for a walk, have a playdate, run through the sprinklers. If he wants to nurse, let him, but he'll start to see that there's a whole world beyong nursing and he'll let go. You've been nursing him for his whole life - it's going to take a little time. Most toddlers, if left to decide all on their own will wean around 3 or 4. Toddlers with gentle encouragement will probably wean close to your son's age. Give it a month or so.

A 19 month old should be eating some solid foods. Get him a bottle and just don't offer the breast to him. Or you could wean him by nuring him only 5 minutes on each breast, and reducing the frequency. As you reduce the frequency the milk will diminish cause it's a "supply and demand system". If you're uncomfortable, you can express some of it, but until you stop stimulating the breasts with baby or expressing, you will make milk. Reducing the feeding and giving him a substitute will do it. You're just going to have to be persistant. He'll get over it.

Give him a bottle. I know he's old enough to not use one, but just for a few days. Don't offer the breast to him any more at all. Let him get plenty to drink from a cup during the day and give him a bottle at nap time and bed time. He will learn to fall asleep with the breast soon. Best wishes

Take the baby off of your chest. Give it a BOTTLE. Congratulations, now you do not feel like the child is attached 24/7 to you anymore. Now you can start having your child babysat by other responsible people. And you can start to meet other moms with their little babies the same age. Have a life!

pump & have him take a bottle like evenflo elite for 2 weeks even when you are at your wits end be strong!
Do not let him control the situation, if he cries tell him you are going to sleep & he has to also.
Only allow him to sleep with you when he listens to mommy & is being a "good" boy.

Quit stuffing the tit in his mouth.
But, seriously, hold the bottle at your chest to simulate breastfeeding and make sure the nipple of the bottle is warm, too.
