Share your feelings with him/her. Let them know and they will decide if the differing mix of feelings is OK or not. Look inside yourself and see if the differing mix is ok with you or not. Maybe it takes you more time to warm up to the idea of being close with the person, maybe you don't want that. Decide and share those feelings too.
Just let them know so they can decide what to do. If anytime you feel uncomfortable with the situation, just say it's not working and get away.

when in doubt, DON'T...that's the rule of thumb for any situation. Just be polite. Sooner or later it will work itself out without you doing a thing. Yes, I have experienced it and that persons (s) usually ended up coming on to me in the most inappropriate way. That was the end of that.
