As an atheist myself, i would have to say i would believe. This is because atheists are rational people often requiring proof. If a god appeared, that would be proof and a rational person would thus believe.

Although, if a god did appear then that would undermine the 'unquestionable faith' aspect of religion and the (former) atheist would probably become an antitheist, because he would have proof a god existed and that god was either a.) not benevolent and omniscient or b.) just allowed bad things to happen for the hell of it.

I think any sane person would have to question the moral standing of religion in either of those cases.

Well, when Jesus appeared to Saul (who later was known as Paul) he asked Saul why he was persecuting him. At the time Paul was a hater of Christians and wanted them all destroyed. Paul later went to write several books in the Bible, 1st and 2nd Corinthians to name a couple. I don't know what most atheists would do, but for Paul it was a life changing event. For reference read Acts chapter 9.

C wouldn't believe even then
B possible if the identity could be established

My question to you is:

What would a Christian do when someone shows up and said he is God? (Watch out for the false "God" now...)

An Athiest would see if it could be proven that this is real and not a product of dilusion, illusion, or any other form of facade. If it were factual, the Athiest would engage in conversation about the multiple objections they have and abandon his old ways.

If god appeared to me one day I'd probably think I'm hallucinating.

If one day I'll get some proof that god exists, I'll be surprised, but I'll believe it. It would take a strong proof though.

Quite frankly it will never happen as God is a Christian concept and not everybody believes in him.

d) and f)
Life would still go on. It's the power of the universe. What of other life out there. They would be pee'd off with us if we told them our God made us in his image.
