yes, there have 11 days of complete peace in the documented history of the world, all by fluke.
Every year the UN holds international peace day, where everyone is urged to lay down arms, and of course it never happens.

No, looking at history I really don't think there ever was. Just different methods, weapons and technology. Not being any wars going on does not mean peace anyway. There are millions of reasons why human beings get upset or angry and war is only one. There will always be disputes and fights going on forever I would say and even if there wasn't there are other natural factors that can disturb peace. Disruption is part of the world. Look at animals. Do you think that they will ever stop attacking each other? Not a chance. We are animals too. God, look at some people, they're worse than animals!! The world is about ups and downs I think. Constant peace surely is a constant up which isn't really realistic. I don't really care anyway to be honest!

I do not consider myself an "expert", but I have studied history a lot over the past 18 years (I also have a BA in history). There may have been lapses in history when there were no known wars, but we must remember that only a few hundred years ago tribes in Africa could be fighting and Europeans and Americans would not know about it. So, 700 of the 1,000 years (at least!) cannot be accounted for fully. War is indeed (sadly) a staple of human history. The problem now is that if we don't grow up quickly all we've managed to produce in civilization can be wiped away. Nuclear weapons and other WMD must be controlled. There are no controls now, and the world is in a lot of trouble.

After the Roman Empire had gained control of the known world, there was a 200 year period known as the Pax Romana when the world was without wars. The period began with the reign of Augustus and continued through Aurelius. It was during the Pax Roman that Jesus Christ was born. Never since has there been a 200 year period that matches the Pax Romana. It is unique in human history.
