I am a Catholic and I agree with you entirely. I have many friends from many different religious paths with some that are atheists and agnostics. We can respect each other but unfortunately not many choose to. And this is from all sides of the fence.

Mythology does not face as much as scrutiny; neither does blind faith or mystical revelations that are no longer provable. faith can't be proved via fact it rather is faith based. yet there are particular medical concepts, which incorporate reincarnation, that could and could be shown interior the destiny. If there is any logical intending to existence, technological awareness will finally locate it and practice its life. in my opinion, with analyze on such issues via fact the M-theory and the universe on the concern of wakeful observers, technological awareness is drawing close that threshold remarkable now. A quote from Carl Sagan, an remarkable scientist and skeptic: "on the time of writing there are 3 claims interior the ESP container which, in my opinion, deserve extreme learn: ... (3) that youthful little ones each and every so often checklist the main effective factors of a prior existence, which upon checking become precise and which they might not have common approximately in any way different than reincarnation. I p.c.. those claims ... as examples of contentions that would desire to be authentic."

Thank you for the good question! I am also a Christian, and I respect everyone's beliefs and would hope that they respect mine. There will always be people who have hate or resentment or something else in their heart that will cause them to be intolerant of others, they are people of all beliefs, including other Christians. The best we can do is to represent what Jesus was really teaching and love and respect our fellow humans and be faithful to God. Take heart in knowing that in the end, God will judge us all by our faith and actions in this life. Keep fighting the good fight! :) ♥

Religions only give lip service to respecting other religions. Their main goal is to get rid of other religions. They believe they best represent what their god is, and will do anything to get others to believe the same.
The more different another religion is from theirs, the more evil they will portray them. For example, Christians routinely protest against Wiccans, saying that they are Satanists. This, of course, is not true since most of them don't even believe in Satan. They'll also routinely portray atheists as inherently evil, even though studies have shown them to be very tolerant of other religions, generous, and well-educated.
If another religion is similar to theirs, they might try to incorporate the other religion into theirs in an attempt to tempt members away from that relligion. A good example of this are the "Jews for Jesus", which is a Christian movement that pays lip service to Judaism in order to pull more Jewish people into Christianity.
So, while other religions may say they are tolerant towards those of other beliefs, or even say how they "love" others. They only do so to the extent that those people can be converted to their religion. If they feel the other isn't convertable, they start saying how one shouldn't "thrown pearls before swine" or be "unequally yoked" and generally avoid or attack people of other religious beliefs. While they give lip service to how nobody should judge another, they'll tell everybody how they think their god judges certain types of people.

I think you are well-meaning but a little confused.
Faith is a free choice, noone can be force to believe.
But you cannot believe something unless you've heard about it.
And as Christians we are obliged to give an accout of the hope that is in us. Because faith in Christ is paramount, without Him there would be no heaven , not only for us but for everyone
I don't mean you have to talk about God always, not at all.
As St Francis said: Always preach, sometimes use words.
God bless you and keep you

Interesting and well-asked question...
My thought would be that those people who claim that they are Christian clearly aren't, seeing as how they are so rude. An incredible man named Scott Peck wrote a fascinating book talking about this; about people who say they are devout Christians by desperation of hiding something of themselves. Something dark, let's say.
As a Christian myself though, I believe strongly in my religion and yet still believe in respecting others'. Who would I be to judge and bash another person's belief? I think I could have a right to not agree, but to insult it would be terribly mistaken itself... therefore, I completely agree with your third paragraph.
Can't people stay with their own religion and let others free? What if someone started insulting the fact they believed in God and such? It would be almost tempting to do so to make the person realize... anyway, I sincerely hope that all will learn to coexist someday!
Thank you for reading and hope this has helped you in your confusion... :)

I am a Christian, but I have been told by many preachers that Islam is a religion of hate and intolerance. So I took it upon myself to read the Quran with my own eyes and see for myself. If you would like to check it out, or the Bible, or any other books such as the Apocryphal Books ( there are 14) go to www.sacred-text.com

Hi Buck Fush!! :o) I hope you're OK. I appreciate what you're saying. One of THE most difficult things to do [as a Christian] is to be lovingly tolerant of OTHER Christians. I'm [also] often very frustrated by those who SAY they share my belief in Christ - but don't act in a way that I think a Christian should act. I'm afraid there really is nothing we can do about it though. Each man [Christian or not] is accountable to GOD for what he says or does. All you can really do [and all you have any right to do] is to do your best to be as pleasing to God as you can be and allow God to deal with those who have [mistakenly - I believe] taken upon themselves to judge others. Jesus Himself warned against throwing rocks. But that lesson is far too often ignored by those who say they follow Him. Based on your message - you sound like a great guy. Don't let anyone drag you down. Craig!! :o)

It would seem as though their criticism of other religions and intolerance toward others is nothing more than a sign of their own lack of faith in their beliefs. If "God" said he would "punish" the non-believer and "Vengence is Mine(His)" why should they go out of their way to condemn others? Could it be they doubt that He will do as He said, or is it simply the same situation as bratty children attempting to "tell on" others? Either way, it shows a lack of spiritual maturity on their par if not a complete lack of faith.
(All that coming from a Pagan no less...LOL)

I'm glad to hear that there are other Christians out there with this opinion. More people should reflect on what it is to be a Christian and to remember that God is love. Love thy neighbor like you love yourself. And always remember that for however strongly you believe in your religion/God/Higher Power there is someone that believes just as strongly in opposition. Give people the benefit of the doubt that they have their own reasons to believe what the do and respect them. Maybe then they will respect our Christian ideas and beliefs too.
