The Heavyweight division currently has four champions, each in the four major sanctioning bodies.
Oleg Maskaev, 33-5, just stopped Hasim Rahman in the 12th round for the WBC title this past week.
Nicolay Valuev, 44-0-1, won a majority decision over John Ruiz this past December for the WBA title.
Wladimir Klitschko, 46-3, stopped Chris Byrd, who was widley considered the #1 champ at the time, in April via a 7th round TKO.
Finally, Sergei Lyakhovich, 23-1, won a hotly contested decision over Lamon Brewster in April for the WBO strap.
The 'Ring Magazine currently has these four champions ranked as follows:
Klitschko #1, Maskaev #2, Lyakhovich #4 and Valuev #9.
With that said, the 'Ring' ratings are creating a chance for their #1 versus #2 ranked fighters to unify the WBC/IBF titles and become THE new champion.
So basically, IF Klitschko and Maskaev fight, the winner will erase the mess as to listing four different fighters when there should only be one.

To all the Ali haters that think (erroneously of course) that Marciano could beat Ali. Don't worry happy you now have 4 white champions.
Now deal with that.
