This has occurred at short notice - we fly on Saturday but daughter's placement begins Sept 4th as it is in a school. We booked flights only to our appartment. Flight was £145.00.

Normally no, but you would have to check on your individual policy.

Most travel insurance only covers flight cancellations caused by the airline, the airport or emergency measures.

Hope this helps!

What a wonderful dilemma to have. Congratulations on your daughter's acceptance.

It is unlikely that your travel insurance will cover you for this cancellation, but READ THE FINE PRINT of your policy. That is where you will find the true answer.

By the way, the rule of thumb is this. If it does not say in the policy that your circumstance is covered, it isn't. The insurer will not pay for anything that is not required by the policy - they don't profit by being nice, only by fulfilling their obligations.

Best wishes.

No it wont. It will cover you incase of a cancellation or if you get in an accident.
