Amana. Remember, you get what you pay for. There are only two manufacturers left making appliances. Even though there are 40 brand names out there. Look at the warranties. The longer the warranty on the compressor the better.

I have been in the refrigeration business and can tell you that Whirlpool makes the best. But you don't have to buy the Whirlpool brand name. Whirlpool owns many of the "brands" you see on showroom floors. Like Maytag, Amana, Whirlpool, Roper, etc. Not only do they offer the best options for the $$, but the reliability is second to none.

LG has swamped the market, but they haven't been in the refrigeration business long and are still experiencing a learning curve.

Best bet is to stay with someone who's been doing it for a very long time. They've worked all the kinks out.

I am not much of an expert in this so i here is what my mom has to say , she is using Sanyo made in Japan for the past 17 years and never given a single problem. Go for a little bigger one than exact capacity to use . Defrosting is a must, and anything more than185 litreswith 2 door will be ideal for a 4 member family.

We have had an AEG refrigerator and an AEG freezer for well over 24 years. I think the bulb in the refrigerator went once, but that is all.
