I'm so glad that you asked! Our favorites include Voyager Estate, Stella (known for their olive oils too), Capte Mentelle, Evans and Tate, Leeuwin Estate, Moss Brothers, and Vasse Felix.

My husband and I visited Margaret River 2 years ago for a self guided wine tasting trip. We will be moving to Australia in a year to start our own winery and are looking into the Margaret River area as a possible location for our winery.

You will have an amazing time! We recommend staying at Margaret's forest. In general, there is a challenge with the water in Margaret river. It comes out of the taps with a red color because of the richness of the soil but don't let it bother you.

Be sure to visit the beaches. They are enchanting. As a previous competitive surfer, I can honestly say that the waves are huge there and only very competent surfers should venture into the water on the big days.

Also, be sure to visit the caves along caves road. Many of them are self guided and you will feel as if you are visiting another world.

Finally, visit Augusta. It is worth the drive if you like lighthouses. It is a small town, with a small town feel. This is what the real Australia is all about. Have a wonderful trip!

Definitely Capel Vale, but loads of good ones.

Basically, further south, there are two roads, so you can go down one, then across, and back up the other.

Visit a few coastal towns and lighthouses as well.
