I wouldn't put much stock in the Media Hype about this Labor Day March. The last time CNN talked about a massive demonstration it turned out to be 8 legal immigrants with a six pack of beer and a Pinata and a Mexican flag. They hired a band of kazoo players that couldn't carry a tune in a paper bag. The whole rally lasted as long as the six-pack of beer which was about 5 minutes. They all ate dinner at McDonald's afterwords and complained about the oppressive heat.
They sure showed us didn't they!! I am shakin in my booties.

That is what is wrong with our Unions today , they are pandering to the illegals , instead of standing up for the American Workers . They have no backbone . They were broken back in the 80's and then crawled in bed with the Corporations , must be crowded , with Congress in there too.. They don't speak for most members any more and are losing members fast , so they have turned to the illegals and that's wrong . When the government builds the Super Highway from Mexico to Canada on the East coast , the Teamsters will be out of jobs and the illegals won't help then .

Quite interesting- you would think that a union representing Americans and suppossedly looking out for the interests of American workers would be rallying AGAINST illegal immigrants taking jobs AWAY from American workers. With all the history of corruption in many unions- especially the Teamsters-however, I guess we should not be surprised. Whereas labor unions originally were established to and did protect American laborers, I see the majority of today's American labor unions as just semi-autonomous organizations looking out for their own financial benefit and self interest. Obviously, the teamsters think they can benefit economically if they can become the union that becomes the voice of the illegal immigrant- honestly, just think of the potential for dues and income. And, if I disappear and am never heard from again, please forward this response to your question to the local and Federal authorities (LOL).
Also, an interesting link provided by DAR below. I thought I was just being crazy thinking to myself that many pro-illegal supporters sure do seem to spout many of the same arguements held by Socialists and Communists (when I was young and in highschool/ college I think I may have been that far out to the political left myself). The link confirmed my suspicions.

They want to be able to organize these people and get union dues, and get wages high again - but need them legalized to do that.
They are having these marches in DC, Chicago and Phoenix, as well.
Why on Labor Day and May Day, do you think?
Enlightenment left a link to an interesting article on the marches in one of his answers. http://www.alternet.org/story/34387/...
If you read down to the bottom, it says "April 29" [later changed to May 1] "LA and New York rallies are being organized by the Progressive Labor Party which is calling for a communist revolution. More information can be found here:http://www.plp.org/
By all means, check that second link, it is fascinating.

I can't believe there is even such an animal in existence. Maybe there should be an anti immigration march on the same day. I can't believe this is happening. We need to fix our country, we need to do it now, and we need to do it from within. I can't believe we, as a country, are letting this happen, letting illegal immigrants begin to control the voices of our country. If you are opposed to this, stand up, don't let our voices be drowned out by illegal immigrants.

The teamsters are in enough trouble. I doubt if they will participate.

It's sad for America.
Here in Europe we have a lot of immigrants... but there's a huge difference, we control the phenomenon.

I cannot forsee teamsters supporting this. But what I can forsee is the backlash from US citizens. The same as the backlash from mayday.
