On the information you give, then Cognac is best.
Cognac is on type of brandy - and there are many excellent brandies from other places (I prefer Armagnac) but usually a drink just known as 'brandy' is a basic one, which is why I vote for Cognac.
Coffee and Cognac? Match made in heaven!!
And try a single malt Scotch whisky :)

Cognac is brandy made in the 'Cognac' region of France.
"All Cognac is brandy but not all brandy is Cognac", so goes the saying.
If the bottle simply says brandy then it was produced outside of the official Cognac region.
Both are distilled from grapes and produced the same way but Cognac gets the nod as it is considered the finest area for brandy production.
Brandy for the coffee, Cognac (VSOP or higher) for the snifter.

Actually, cognac and brandy are the same thing. Cognac is just brandy that's made in Cognac, France. That's why cognac is served in a brandy snifter. I've been a bartender for 7 years, trust me. Personally, I don't like brandy. I didn't even like it when I was a drunk.

Yeah dude, the old summer classic - Pimms!! You cannot go wrong with this. Don't hesitate to buy this many bottles - it goes down ultra-fast and you don't wanna run out. Buy 10 x 70cl bottles of Pimms 15 bottles of Lemondade Several: Cucumbers Apples Oranges Lemons and some fresh mint, bags of ice and long plastic stirrers. (and some glass jugs if you don't have any) Store the Pimms & lemonade in the fridge to keep ultra cool, and so that you don't need too much ice in the jugs. Cut up the fruit and cucumbers into little pieces and keep in a large bowl with a big ladle/spoon ready for chucking into fresh jugs of Pimms mix. Mix 1 part Pimms with 2 parts lemonade in the jugs and chuck in a load of fruit and top off with a few sprigs of mint. Stir it up really well and serve - preferably getting the fruit in the glasses too. Choose tall glasses and serve with stirrers. Or, to make it by the glass: Traditional Pimms No.1 1 slice per person of; orange, lemon, apple, cucumber 1 sprig of mint 2 parts lemonade to 1 part Pimms Enjoy!
