Well i think you can put your alarm to wake up early. Make your body stay awake early in the morning. Make a cup of coffee or drink a Mountain Dew, and do some choirs. In the evening have a great workout an hour before going to bed. A shower after the workout will make you feel relaxed. Just lay in bed and your tired body will soon fall asleep.
Hopefully after that you will be back to a healthier sleeping habit.

Try to keep a regular schedule. Always get up and go to bed at the same time every day. Exercise, but not right before bed - it accelerates the metabolism, not slows it down. A glass of warm milk (8 ounces) will also help you go to sleep. Be sure to have a place that is conducive to sleep. A college dorm room might not work the best for this, but if you have to sleep in a noisy environment and the noise bugs you, buy some ear plugs - the kind musicians use probably work the best - you can get them at most music stores for about $12, and my sweetie said hers lasted for four years (I just bought her some new ones).

To switch back to your healthy sleeping habit of sleeping early and waking up early takes time. You body takes time to adjust back. Your body works in a "forward manner": easier to sleep later everyday but not earlier in time. You can either force your body to sleep early by taking melantonin or take it slowly by sleeping early by 30 minutes everytime.
Here are the sleeping ways I used.
- Yoga with relaxing music 1-2 hours before you sleep
- Hot shower before bed.
- Take a banana before sleeping
Some non-additive drugs you can buy off the shelf:
- Melantonin : There are books saying it prolong youth
- Sleep starter by 21st Century brand
While in bed,
- read a boring text book until you feel sleepy.
- count sheeps
- chant something repeating like religious chant or auto suggestion. Must be a line only.
- Meditate while lying down

Do some excercise during the day (not near bed time or this will keep you awake) after evening meal do some computer stuff, take a book to bed, this should help you dose off and get up earlier than you have been doing even if you feel tired, then every day will get you into a routine

Usually if I drink a lot of Jack and Coke it puts me to sleep. haha. I would just wake up early and don't take a nap. Then you will be tired early and it will be easier to fall asleep early. Reading a book usually puts me to sleep too. When I was in college I used to lay in my bed and study at night until I fell asleep. It was cool because I was either studying or sleeping, no time wasted.

exhaustion helps me sleep. I have insomnia so I can't stay on a sleep schedule. What you could do though is start getting up at the same time everyday including weekends....regardless of what time you go to bed. And do not take naps during the day no matter how tired you are. You'll soon be going to bed earlier and getting up earlier.

Lie on your bed, then tense your whole body for about a 10-20 seconds, then relax and breath regularly.
If that doesn't help, try to focus your eyes on one spot of the ceiling, try to keep your eyes from blinking, till you eventually tire out.
Good luck!

find an activity (or several) that will keep you awake all day and then go to sleep the next night, that should do it.:) if you dont wanna stay up that long, try stopping all activity one hr sooner than you do now to give your body time to slow down, and try to get into bed 30min sooner than you do now, then hold that time for 2-3 days and then back up another 30min, and so on until you get to where you wanna be.

a workout that finishes up about an hour and a half before your projected bedtime is a good idea. it usually takes 1 1/2 hrs to cool down and relax, but that usually puts me right out.
