No, each avatar does not have to be known or worshiped. I acknowledge that there are many avatars representing many different deities. All of those avatars are not representing the same person. I have chosen those avatars that I can relate to best. I don't think that one avatar is any better or worse than another, although I find some easier to relate to than others. I don't berate people for not worshiping the same avatars that I do nor do I try to persuade them to my views.

what do you mean when you say "avatars". and why should you worship an avtar or avatars? You should seek to worship the TRUE LIVING GOD who is God the Father Almighty.. As JESUS clearly says in the HOLY BIBLE "Woman a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain or in Jerusalem....Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipper will worship the Father in spirit and truth.for they are the kind of worshipper that Father seeks. God is spirit and His worshippers should worship Him in spirit and truth" [ John 4:21-24}.

By Avatar, i think you mean "Incarnations of Supreme Personality of Godhead" as mentioned in Bhagavad Gita ...

SO Krishna says that where ever and when ever there is decline of religious principles, he comes himself or as his expansions.. Such Expansions are called Avatars...

In vedic Literatures it is stated that these Avatars are non different from the original one, just as different flames of Candle lit from the original Candle is the same..
Still the Original Person is Krishna. And it is also said that inside Krishna all avatars are present..
So it does not matter which Avatar you worship, But if you want to worship the original, or you want to worship all of them then you should take to worship of Krishna as he is the "Avatari" or one from whom all avatar take expansion..

In Islamic teaching there is no avatar or incarnation.Allah as the only one God sent to this earth His messengers through prophets
and angels. He can supervise this universe in His throne. We should pray to our God at least five times a day as compulsary plus optional as someone can do it.Praying is a direct communication from humanbeing to our Greatest Creator. We ask for help to our God in implementing our life guidance..Allah gave us Al Qur'an as our life guidance.Islam is the religion from our God for all races in this earth.Allah the only one God that should be worshipped by all humanbeings.

Bahai Faith believes in Progressive revelation. They call everyone as Messengers, Avatars, or Prophets who have blessed the earth so far with their wisdom, love and peace.

Progressive revelation also stresses that there will be prophets and avatars in the future, all over the world. Hope this helps.

Let Peace, wisdom, and love be with you!

Not necessary. You are at liberty to worship any form of God you like. You are also at liberty not to worship any form at all. Religion is your personal faith. You accept any religion or worship any form by your choice but not by pressure or coercion. Worshipping or praying is a silent communication between the Creator and the created. Purely it is a personal business.

It makes no difference to real Avatar whether one worships him or not it is entirely left to individual belief. however your belief is not going to upgrade or degrade the true Avtar. people worship various faiths and beliefs for their own benefit.

Surely there is no mandate on you to worship any one Avtar, or, a few Avtars, or, all Avtars. Worshipping and Prayers, are for reinforcing your strength, to give yourself some re-assurance, and, sometimes, to help you to improve your concentration and harness the strength of your own mind. God in any Avtar is God, if you believe in God!
