I only have Plain flour but i have a recipe that needs self-raising flour. I know that there is a way to change it but i dont know myself.

one teaspoon of baking powder to every cup of flour....

if you do not have baking powder you can substitute bi carb soda but need to add the bi carb to some of the liquid in the recipe...

You need to add a heaped teaspoonful of baking powder to each half pound of flour. That's about 3g of baking powder to 100g of plain flour. Salt shouldn't come into it - add it if the recipe calls for salt.

three-fourth teaspoon of baking powder added to one cup of plain flour. this has worked best for me.
