Opinions can be simply wrong. Yet people think they have the right to state an opinion and no one has the right to tell them their wrong.

If youre opinion is nonsense you should be told, as opinions can be plain wrong

(this is just my opinion)

Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Yes, it may be 'wrong'. However, the dictionary says an opinion can either be unsubstantiated conclusion, or a judgement based on expert knowledge; the latter is what I assume you're referring to as something that is 'right', and if contradicted is 'wrong'.

So you can point out how an opinion is 'wrong' from the evidence you possess. The holder of the opinion can disagree w/you. They may still be wrong from your viewpoint, and yet you can't argue against the fact that they have an opionion.

Now, someone who thinks their opinion should stand unchallenged, unquestioned, or unclarified may be 'wrong.' However, Yahoo! Answers doesn't give a good way to challenge these usually. Not only that, even if you challenge someone's opinion, it's possible that they'll keep their original opinion anyway.

So, ultimately, what's the point in arguing w/them? Tell them your opinion (or the 'facts', which is ultimately your opinion backed up by some one else's opinion), and if they disagree... then agree to disagree.

(This is, obviously?, simply my opinion ;-)

Good question and I will give my opinion Lol LOL.

I try not to say its my opinion. I try to say "IN" my opinion. Now you may see it the same way but I see it as saying that is my view for now. If you do read any of my questions I did answer, I do leave my trademark almost all the time. I close with my email mail box so any and all can easily contact me and tell me how wrong I am.

I many times say I am a student and learning and and not an authority, ex-pert, teacher, preacher, or any of the like. OK.

I did notice that you did have an opinion in your question. You declared it to be that anyone who says "its my opinion" is saying they can't be wrong.
I do accept your opinion as being just that, your opinion. Is that fair enough for you. I do feel that you do think that you in this area not wrong or you would not have stated as you did in this question.

Why not let others use the English language as the do desire and if you have a doubt do ask other to express what they are saying so you can be sure of what is communicated. I personally accept I may be wrong most of the time and do ask to be corrected so please do correct my answer to you and my view of your question if it is wrong. I would appreciate it my friend. My email is listed and you can check out myother questions and answers in my profile to see I am telling the truth.

Now do have a great day, smile and do have a lots of opinions knowing you may be wrong also.

via fact it is your opinion, it could no longer fairly be incorrect. besides the shown fact that, i could ask you to study the "fetus no longer being alive till it fairly is out in the international" project slightly added. My very own opinion is that if the fetus has more suitable nerve endings which could supply a soreness reaction, the middle is thrashing, the fetus is kicking, and so on., then it fairly is in all probability already too overdue for an abortion. truthfully, if it could experience soreness, which could be adequate for me to end and not get the abortion. that's only merciless. As for adoption, it is not likely as undesirable as you think of that's. i grow to be accompanied, my brother grow to be accompanied, a lot of my cousins have been accompanied, and that i even gave up a new child for adoption to a good looking couple. maximum toddlers get accompanied almost immediately after beginning and not spend time in foster care / orphanages. truthfully, it fairly is the youngsters that lose their mothers and fathers and don't have the different kin that get caught in those circumstances. i think of adoption is greater advantageous than abortion...fairly if the fetus is fairly residing and might experience soreness. as much as a factor however, i could bypass with abortion first.

I don't know what you mean. Of course they can be wrong, that's why they say it is their opinion. If they are stating facts then it is not an opinion. If it's their own belief, then it is there opinion, and people are free to disagree.

No, opinions are not right or wrong.....they're opinions. That's what an opinion is. It's not fact....it's just what you think about something. I could say that I think that red is the best color of the rainbow. That's my opinion. You make think blue is. That's your opinion. Neither one is factual.

I say it's my opinion to the person so he wouldn't think I'm judging him. Also, I don't expect he'd think the same way as I do and act into it accdgly. But I wanted him to know my point of view so he may give it a consideration.

people who say "its my opinion" are usually afraid of being disputed and there is general beliefs that everyone is entitled to their opinions. People are very afraid of telling others they are wrong because they don't want to insult their opinions. Also how do you KNOW someone's opinion is wrong? Because it's just YOUR opinion that it's wrong, right? It goes around in circles. But yes, I agree that some opinions are wrong, but there is NO way of really disproving them.

Surely you understand a wrong opinion is worth zip and could easily be disregarded -- as most sensible people would do.

Statement marked as "OPINION" would warn the public that they have to use their own judgment on it. (i.e. it could be as personal as I like black but some people like white, so take it or leave it!)

When I say; "This is my opinion".....I mean that my opinion is subject to change upon more Revelation of truth, that my statement is my current understanding of truth, but that it is definitely not a Scripture, which is total truth, be it literal or symbolic.

There are other less important matters that, my opinion would be totally mine, and correct..like; 'In my opinion, red looks better on you that pale green.'
