Usually, transfers between current and savings accounts of the same bank show up immediately. But not the same with credit card, usually. You can ask the bank to refund you the charge as a goodwill gesture since you expected the payment would go straight into your Barclaycard stratigh away. I'd suggest you wait until the payment shows up before asking.
Regarding where the money is right now - I suppose it's in a black hole somewhere - the bank's black hole that is. So I suppose the bank is earning the interest - can't say for sure though.

Well i work for Halifax anything paid in cash over the counter is credited the same day however does show on the account straight away i think this is the same anywhere. With a bill payment either via the ATM, standing order or Internet can take anywhere between 3-5 days depend on working days, bank holidays and cut off times

I can only half answer this as there are two ways of doing this and I'm not sure which you have used.
If you make the payment from your current account online banking (through the bill payment option) then the payment credits the same day, and then shows on the following day.
If you make the payment from the actual barclaycard site then I don't know! (I've always done it via logging onto my current account)

Hi
It will take between 3-5 days before showing on your Barclaycard account - even though you have a Barclays account.

If you go to a Barclays branch and pay it then it's done instantly otherwise it's credited on the third working day. The bank gets the interest on the money. They've got to make 3000 million pounds somehow lad.

Absolutely! Prayer, and it's power has always kept-up with advances, speech, writing, congregating, telephone, television... Computers are no different. Hopefully, we use everything, all our gifts, talents, intelligence, and tools possible to reach out for prayer/meditation/the light when needed. This girl from Virginia is sending up positive spiritual thoughts your mother and your way. My family and friend will be also after our meeting tonight. Many blessings. And it only takes "...the faith of a grain of mustard seed.". I am a mountain of faith.

if you paid throught their website I think it should be updated the next day or the coming midnight.
IF you did a bill or bacs payment from your bank online, that will take up to 3 days.
I think the overlimit fee for them is £25.00, you need to make sure the amount you are over, the minimum payment and the interest amount per month is covered by the £100.00... making sure you have plenty credit available for next month to stop you going over again when they take the interest, at least £50.00 or any other pending transactions

as this was taken out via the internet, it may not show up on your account until the next day, it seems they take it out as requested straight away, but dont enter the payments into your ledger until close of business so they will show up the next day.
