Try some type of tooth ache gel that is used to control pain of the gums and nerves. It has a local anestetic effect.

Clean it really good. Use the mouthwash they gave you if you got some. You can also try listerine, it sounds painful but it will payoff. I have also heard of using salt water to clean it but it didn't seem very effective to me.
Afterwards, drink some ice cold water or eat some icecream it will numb it for a little while.
But if you eat the icecream, you'll have to clean it again shortly after.
By the way, if you just recently got it done some swelling and pain is normal.
God bless. Hope it works out.

YOU DONT! I have mine as well. and it'll go... eventually. honestly, i took a hydro for the pain.. it will swell, you'll talk a little funny. and it hurts to eat & swallow. so hopefully you got stuffed before you got it done. just grin and bear it. it'll go. and you wont ever even notice it hardly after a few months. just some advice: dont play with it all the time. it's sooo annoying.

Hurry up and get some mouth wash, like Listerine. It will kill any bacteria and numb the throbbing. BEWARE.... it stings like a mother f*cker,

if its a small cut then it may get ok after an hour or two but if it is badly pierced then you should consul the doctor imediately before it gets worst.

Give it time to heal...just remember, you just stuck a foreign object through your tongue...the body needs time to get used to it.
