I dated a girl I worked with, and it ended after 5 months. I still really care about her and being that i have to see her during the week makes it hard, kinda jelous when she talks about guys she sees. Well she found out that I still had feelings for her and started flirting with me at work in a casual way. then will turn around and start ignoring me. So I just completely stay away from where she is working that day. then she gets pissed off that I'm ignoring her. Do women enjoy putting men through hell like this?

Women love attention, just like men do! It's in our nature. But maybe you should confront her and ask her what she really wants. If she's flirting just for fun or is there a reason behind it? If it's just fun for her, than tell her it's not what you want. Just be honest, it can never be wrong.

It sure sounds like SHE enjoys it. Keep that in mind when dealing with her.
I know it will be hard since you still care for her, but DON'T go out of your way to avoid her. On the other hand, don't go seeking her out, either. If you need to deal with her for a work-related reason, do so as professionally as you can. If you pass her in the hallway, smile and say hi and leave it at that - at least then she can't say you're ignoring her. If you can move to a different shift or department with no ill effects, think about that.
And try sticking around other co-workers. You'll have someone else to talk to, and having other people around might make her back off. If she flirts with you, be businesslike and pretend you don't notice it. Hopefully she'll get bored with her little game.
If she doesn't and it's really affecting your work, you can always go to a supervisor. Or at least see if you can just talk it over with a co-worker you trust and get his/her opinion.

To answer your question. Yes, women do like "putting men through hell" or, in other words, they like drama.
What would I do? First thing, learn from your mistake and never ever date a co-worker for this exact reason. When it ends, work becomes uncomfortable.
Second, consider your options. Either you quit, she quits, you transfer, she transfers, or you attempt to work out a way you can work together without all the drama.
I would sit her down some day outside of work and just say "Hey, this isn't working. I think we need to just be civil to each other at work, but no more flirting, getting upset over nothing, and acting like high school kids."

yes we do. everyone of us. we are all out to kill u inside and we wont stop being confusing until ur head explodes......a lot of girls enjoy seeing men try there damnedest to figure out what the hell all the mixed singles really mean. there could be a lot of different reasons y she'd be doing this to u but uhhh.....but shockingly guys can’t read minds and HEY neither can i. So if ur confused then it’s her own damn fault. if u don’t understand what she’s trying to do, the only thing that is clear is that if she’s giving u a hard time u prolly shouldn’t put in the time trying to figure out what it all means. isn't it nice when they just spell it out for you?

Did you ever think that she wants you back and maybe does not know how to ask you if you still really feel the same. Maybe she's not playing a game with you but then again you'll never know until you ask her what is she trying to do to you!

That's exactly why I have a personal policy of not dating people from my work....more often than not it leads to an uncomfortable situation like the one you're in.....lesson learned?

most women do enjoy playing with guys but i would get over it and try your best not to let her get to u and as hard as it may be act like your completly not interested and when she trys to talk to u again (and she will) do not give her the time of the day trust me

I think you should just ask her how she feels. She's probably just playful and enjoys teasing you. Maybe she still likes you. She wouldn't bother to flirt with you if she doesn't.

Maybe you should trap her in the copier room and and bang the heck out of her on a day she is wearing a short skirt with no panties on.
