The ability to recognize a situation, access it, make a decision regarding the situation, verbalize it, act on it.
The ability to laugh, to convey complex ideas, to question, to organze, to properly bathe, to read and write.
There are so many things that humans are capable of that no other living creature on this earth are capable of, that this one is incapable of listing them all.
But, I don't think that that makes us necessarily "better", we just communicate and function in a different and more farther evolved way. Other animals depend more on instinct rather than logic, and in some ways, that makes them more perceptive.
For instance, when there is a natural disaster such as a hurricane or a tsunami. The animals seem to sense it and tend to run to the safest place to be in such a circumstance. Long before people even have a clue that it's coming. That is, of course if the people don't have things like weathermen on TV and devices to alert them. But without those, in a natural disaster, the animals would be the ones that would have a much better survival rate.
Also, I don't understand why you say, "apart from sex" - people and animals all have sex. Just hopefully with their own respective kind of course.

THE NEGATIVES:
Insecurity - We know more than we were designed to know (that's what you get for f***in around with the Tree of Knowledge) and the result is that we are all fearful.
Greed, Envy and the ability to Complain - Left unchecked, these forces have ruined lives, families, communities and kingdoms.
Self-centredness/Narcissism - This, I think, is the root of most problems...if not all. One cannot live a satisfying life unless he lives it for the good of his fellow man.
Complacency/Laziness - the quality of "settling for". It's a common short-coming of the human psyche. When we lower our standards for ourselves - in what we expect and in what we offer - we are losing out on an abundant life that is just WAITING for us. Carpe diem!!
Ignorance - another type of "settling for". People who believe something because it is convenient, popular or simply because it was what they've always been told are recklessly giving their minds away to be used to possibly further someone else's selfish agenda. We are each responsible for fully understanding the beliefs we profess, and we should all be interested in the pursuit of truth.
THE POSITIVES:
Love - With reason that sets us apart from the animals comes a deeper understanding of and greater value for this emotion. Unconditional love is what binds humanity to itself.
Music and Art - I have NEVER heard of a culture who didn't value music or art. It's a God-given gift, that came with our ability to reason and think as we do. We use art as a tool to speak across time and space to our fellow man. We use it to convey emotions that words can't quite capture. We use the harmony of music to bring together people into a single effort, and we gain a sense of belonging. Where two people are singing the same note, you find two people agreeing on something. And where you find two people harmonizing, you find people working together, building on one another's strengths, cooperating to create something bigger and more beautiful than they could have created alone. Now ain't that a beautiful thing? :)
Courage and Perseverance - Standing up for what you believe in, and seeing a thing through to the end.
Forgiveness - Forgiving and being forgiven are both, at once, difficult to bear as well as being profoundly healing.
Laughter - We're a funny bunch. Yet another thing that brings people together, and it is something we all share.
Excellent question, btw! :)

Fundamentalism. an identical reason all religions oppose yet another. no person faith can settle for yet another because of the fact all and sundry become initially created as a potential of administration. (have faith this and not the rest or you would be tortured. continually.) tell that to a baby who's conscious no longer something of ways the universe works and it will stick. It ruins their potential to comprehend good judgment or relativity and separates them from others because of the fact they do no longer view all people and issues because of the fact an identical element they are genuinely: stardust. as quickly as those youngsters advance up, many become severe of their ideals to the factor of violence. element notice: your question is improperly written. it is going to examine "even nonetheless.... in common, they're nevertheless combating?" or "Judaism.... yet why are they nevertheless combating." "even nonetheless this yet why are they nevertheless combating" sounds ridiculous. clever up in case you intend on college. no longer being advise, its the actuality.
