Why is New Mexico the Enchanted State?

I have visited my friends in Albuquerque twice this year since spring.

It is called Land of Enchantment as there is historical notes about how magical things happened in the past. The ancient Turquoise trade brought people to New Mexico. It wow-ed(surprised, fascinated) people. There something captivating about New Mexico, so thats why it is called land of Enchantment.
In spanish New Mexico was called as "Tierra de Encanto" which means Land of Enchantment.
