I personally like Mix Martial Art (UFC, Pride, Bushido) things of that nature over Boxing. MMA in my opinion are much more exciting to watch and crazier. Although boxing is a real crazy sport too MMA has more action and variety of skills involve. Boxing can be fun, but in recent years it is dying. Unlike MMA, boxing is too Hollywod. However, MMA can one day be Hollywood too, just not now. So, Boxing or MMA, which one is more appealing and why is it apeapling to you?

I'm definitely an MMA fan. There's a lot more action going on in MMA. The fighters keep the pressure on through the whole fight, whether they're working strikes, takedowns, or submissions. Boxing matches tend to be more drawn out and slow, with the fighters working a game of endurance. I actually have a hard time watching boxing now that I have gotten so in to MMA.

BTW, to the person that mentioned that MMA seemed like a fad:
Check out the article below. The UFC actually had more pay-per-view buys than WWE this year. The sport is exploding, and I doubt it's going anywhere any time soon. Stating that the average fan lived in his parents house was also a little ludicrous. Have you watched a UFC event lately? The seats are packed with celebrities and millionaires.

I prefer Boxing 1000x more than MMA. I have nothing against MMA but I do get annoyed with all of their front-running fans saying that it will be the death of boxing. Not gonna happen. MMA fights can be exciting but the truth is that once a fight goes to the grappling part, I get EXTREMELY bored out of my mind. And if a fighter is knocked down or stunned, the fight is usually over. I like where in boxing, the fighter has the chance to get up and fight on. Look at some great fights like Marciano-Walcott, Gatti-Ward (all 3), Corrales-Castillo, where one of the fighters was down and stunned and had to climb off the canvas, survive a barrage, and come back to keep fighting. Just a few weeks ago, there was a big MMA pay-per-view card with Anderson Silva. The main event went all of 30 seconds. The next week, there was a boxing PPV with Margarito and Cotto fighting a war for 11 rounds. Which do you think was more exciting and a better value for the PPV dollars???? The boxing match HANDS DOWN!!! I also crack up at the guy who rips the "padded" gloves that boxers wear. Try getting hit with one of those padded gloves and then tell me about it!!!!

Boxing, just because MMA seems like a fad to me. I've seen other promotions like Pro Karate Association kickboxing come and go, so I doubt MMA has much staying power, even though I plan to enjoy it well it lasts. The average MMA fan lives in his parent's basement, so they aren't paying big money for ringside seats nor do the Spike TV broadcasts attract big interest from advertisers looking for a desirable demographic.

That being said; I don't think there's anything wrong with MMA, just that it has no more staying power than the 1980s kickboxing boom. I would be pleasantly suprised if it were otherwise.

I think most martial artists like to watch either boxing or MMA because we can relate to the one on one aspect. As a fighter, I will watch either one if I can but if I had to choose then I would go for the MMA because it's just a little closer to my art.
It's fun to try to read the fighters. To know what they are setting up to do next by the way they shift their weight or position their bodies. That can be done while watching MMA but is alot harder (almost imposible) with boxing.

MMA. It is way more entertaining. Plus I can learn something that I may want to try out.
Boxing is ok, after I saw the first UFC, I was like F--- boxing.
Boxing now seems very boring for me. Plus Iron Mike Tyson stained the sport. Another drawback to boxing is Don King,he is not a good man.

MMA is much more exciting. I used to love boxing, but it's gotten to be so boring. I still watch, but I really look forward to MMA. MMA is the future of spectator combat sport. Boxing is on the way out.

Boxing has thousands of years history, all the way from Greece and the first Olympiad. It will never fade. MMA will grow, and perhaps, reach the same popularity level as Boxing, but boxing will forever be the sport of the titans.

MMA is the truth now. The athletes are well rounded and all in all better conditioned and mentally tough fighters. I have been in MMA for 6 years now, and feel that i am better prepared to handle myself in the ring, on the streets and in life in general.

MMA, there used to be a lot more around about 10 years ago, but most of the states have banned it. only a few can still hold sanctioned events.

well, i personally love mma.. i love stand up but i also love watching matches that go straight to the ground, it's like a chest match...

boxing used to be great, it was the next best thing.. but nowadays, the technique is lagging and frankly there are no great fighters, no sugar rays, tysons, or holifields, well, holifield is making his comeback, which is nice to see some crisp boxing again...

but really, i do feel the same, i just worry that one day we'll begin to see the same downward spiral in mma that we saw in boxing... the fame and glitz and glamour tends to make fighters lazy..

but that's just my opinion..
