Spin it on top of a table.
If it wobbles, it's soft: if it rotates well, it's hard.
This happens because if there is liquid inside a spinning object it will tend to be resistant to spinning. It's container might be spinning, but the liquid doesn't have to. Since eggs are not perfectly round, this will cause liquid parts to be "caught" on the solid parts, making it wobble.
Soft cooked eggs will spin better than raw eggs, but slightly worse than hardboiled eggs. In my experience, the spin of a soft-cooked egg is not much different from that of a hardboiled egg.

If you spin it on a flat ,hard, smooth surface (eg table), the faster it spins, the harder it is. A raw egg will hardly spin at all, and a hard one...very fast. ...soft boiled- not quite as fast. You would need to experiment with some 'known' eggs first to get the hang of it.

spin it on a flat surface and spin in. if it spins fast it's a hard boiled egg. this is because there is no motion inside the egg (because it's cooked). slower spinning eggs are the raw ones. try it. it's fun. i learnt this when i was 10yrs old on a science programme and i've been doing it ever since.

buy special eggs (Available in the UK) like these
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2006/07/31/negg31.xml
that tell you when they are perfectly soft boiled, or hard boiled.
they have a invisible tattoo on them, when the eggs are cooked for a certain amt of time, the tattoo turns a visible black color indicating they are cooked either soft boiled, or hard boiled.

spin it.
if it spins - then it's cooked.
if it wobbles - it's raw
the principle behind this is that the liquid inside the raw eggs tends to void the force of spin you're trying to create.
