Mary Magdelane was his wife? If not, what are the "some truths"? It is very important to clarify this for me. Thanks.

the old saying is "there is no smoke without fire"
meaning that whatever myth or weird storys there are from the past, each has an element of truth to them.
i wouldnt worry too much about the da vinci code story, because the new testiment (bible 2.0) wasnt even put into writing until at least 50 years after jesus died. so no one will ever know the truth.

try and picture that, even now if stories from the 2nd world war were just spread by word of mouth. how much would still be truth today?

christians have their faith, and thats enough for them.

The truth has nothing to do with Mary Magdelene being married to Jesus.

Jesus came to die, not to carry on a romance, and marry someone.

Offspring from such a union would have caused no end of trouble, as any sons would have automatically become "messiahs" as well.

We have much more historical evidence for Mary Magdelene being married to Joseph of Arimathea, which would make her Jesus' aunt, and possibly (since St. Joseph had died) even a type of "mother by adoption".

As for truth in the DaVinci Code:

1) The Catholic church was in existence at the time of Constantine.

2) The Bible was in general and wide use at that time, but hadn't yet been officially canonized.

3) The Catholic church held one of the first world wide, major councils in Rome, with the full support of Constantine.

4) Constantine decriminalized Christianity and became one of its' greatest promoters and benefactors.

5) It was determined (unanimously, except for one vote) at the council, that Jesus Christ was co-eternal with the Father and the Holy Spirit.

6) St. John was a very young, even effiminate looking boy at the time Jesus was crucified.

7) DaVinci painted the work we call "The Last Supper".

This is the truth on which the DaVinci Code is based.

Pretty much all the rest is the work of Dan Brown's fertile imagination. Don't allow yourself to be led astray.

Well where faith in God ends, superstition goes in.
Some ppl think that the bible is just a buch of fairy -tales but then they'll belive anything absurd as ever.

This book is full of lies and myths invented in the 70 ties it's even been testified in French court that it's all a hoax by the person himself who made this up. He just wanted to be related to the Merovingian Kings, and why not Jesus as well, so he invented the whole thing about the priory of sion.

BTW St. Mary Magdalens relics are not at all lost and she has been honored by the Church since the beginning, the relics are kept in the south of France.

The book isn't entirely fiction per se. Some of the things Dan Brown bases his book are on the writings of false books such as the Testament of Mary Magdalene. Remember, Dan Brown wrote his book as a thriller unlike religious groups that think it was done to undermine or insult the bible. I wouldn't bother reading any of Dan Brown to find truth.

Except For The Names, Its All Fiction.

Dan Brown' s novel does contain some truths. Opus Dei, does exist, but they are not all murderous albinos, and they do not use the cilice to draw blood. Since the apostles wrote the New Testament, I highly doubt they would screw up the fact that Jesus gave the Church to Peter, which sounds nothing close to "Mary". Read the Bible, think for yourself, and realize that Dan Brown is just trying to make money!!! Welcome to the corporate world!!!

Much truth, but not this. This Truth is in deep rather than surface level. For example the Truth is about 2 origins of World - masculine and female. If you are ready, you may find the answer for your question in gnostic teaching.

With some truth? The work by Dan Brown is totally and wholly a work of fiction. There's nothing else to explain, and don't be so gullible.

If you believe in the Gnostics, then yes, Mary Magdalene was Jesus wife. (I didnt say it is true btw, hehe).

As for the book itself...

HOW MUCH OF THIS NOVEL IS TRUE?
The Da Vinci Code is a novel and therefore a work of fiction.

It is fun to believe in this stuff. But barely any of it is true. Mary was not the holy grail, she was not painted in the last supper, etc etc. the book is a compilation of hundreds of years of men trying to create a huge fantasy. it is a really great read. but dont buy into it. no one knows, mary could have been his wife, but most believe she was not.
