I am trying to decide what type of dogs elves would have. Like LOTR elves. I would think they would use cats for hunting as they are so stealthy, but dogs? Hmm, have to be for pleasure, but what breed?

An aside on the Pembroke Welsh Corgi- they have a white "x" on their back that is said to be what the fairies hold on to while riding on their backs!
I would think that elves would keep Irish Wolfhounds. They are beautiful, soulful and spirited.

I would have to say the Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Not just because I have one but because "Cor gi" supposedly translates to "Dwarf Dog" in Welsh. And according to Wikipedia, "There is a myth that fairies would ride on corgis, because they were a perfect horse for that size."
