Intermodal means that the supplies being transported will travel via two or more different modes of travel.

It may start via rail then be transported via air, etc.

intermodal are the double stack truck trailers that most trains carry. some of the big intermodal companies include NYK, JB Hunt, UPS, Fed Ex, OOCL USA, Hanjin, China Shipping to name a few. I hope this helps

Intermodal means between modes, in this case different modes of transport. These companies transport goods in containers across the globe, they may use Shipping, rail, road or any combination of these transport modes to get the freight where it is going
