Religion might punish individuals in the name of having flouted its prescriptions, calling it sin, but sins to be punished ?

Well there is no different Hells for Different Religions ...
Suffering depends not on the Religion you practice but the Sin you commit ..

I guess it depends if you are talking here on earth or in the life eternally. Here on earth in the U.S.A. about all they do is kick you out of a church, (that is about the harshest punishment). I cannot say about other countries because is it the religious leaders or the government doing it?

Christianity. If you've watched Passion of Christ, multiply that by 10,000 times and that's the true picture of what happened to Jesus when all the earth sins fell upon Him. Thank God that we need not go through all that because Christ had borne it for us!! And now, we Christians are deemed righteous in God's eyes!!

every religion if it is really still same and the books not altred must have punishment for sins

if no punishes so every one can do what ever he wants , because he will not be afraid

but God gave us many many times to repent and to ask him to forgive us

depends on how you view "punishment".

most offer punishment in afterlife. but, if religion is wrong and there is no afterlife, then sinners get off scot-free.

but those that offer punishment in this life (namely islam) are probably more along the lines of answering this post.

ps - i know nothing about islam, so please don't be offended if what i said was incorrect.

I think God will be the final judge and rewarder or punisher of deeds and beliefs not a particular faith...
