Most likely you will have to purchase a genuine copy. However, you might consider purchasing a Macintosh instead. These computers are more reliable, rugged, and cost effective. I have found that Macs can do anything a PC can and do it faster and better, including Windows. Also, if you are a student, you can obtain a free iPod with the purchase of a new Mac through Sept. 16th. Apple does this each year around August. I make this suggestion through personal experience. If you have the resources, I would seriously give this some consideration over purchasing a genuine copy of Windows.
However, if you do opt to purchase a genuine copy of Windows, check-out Newegg.com. Their prices are typically less than those of other companies, and I have found Newegg's quality and service to be superb.
