Regardless of whether you have a faith in a particular religion or not, is there another, aside from your own, that you have a deep respect for because of its teachings?

Im not a religious person myself, but i completely respect other peoples beliefs, cuz i think everyone needs something to believe in, and if they´ve found that thing in their lives, well then, thatz just great. And far as the teachings go...well, i think all religions have the same basic principles, in the end, its about all the ways you can be a better person ...so in that sense, yes i do have respect for any good philosophy actually.

I'm an atheist, but there are some things in every religion that I've learned about that I like and agree with. I have deep respect for those elements, but sadly many of them are spoiled by bad elements in those religions.

For example I love the way Jesus preached for love and tolerance, although there are other elements in Christianity that I can't say I agree with.

Very much ! And it does makes a very good sense.
Does not a scientist respect another person on path of scientific pursuit, whatever the level ? !
Religion is about understanding our inner nature. Any effort is worth respecting.

I'm agnostic. At the top of my list would be Unitarian Universalists. I am very seriously considering joining them for more reasons than I have the energy to list. I admire Buddhists, some Native American paths, and many forms of Paganism. I have to add the Mormons too....just because they are a likeable lot!

Good question BTW.

No, I have no respect for religions as a concept. I think they all claim (by definition) to hold the truth, so they act like they actually did. And that brings about a lot of intolerance and hatred.

I have respect for all religions, thats what my religion teaches me. Even when I see someone bashing my religion, I think of them as ignorants. I believe every religion teaches us to respect other religions.

Buddhism, probably, although I don't know about all the eastern religions. Abrahamic religions preach too much violence for me.
