My ex and I broke up when I left for college because the long-distance was too hard for him to handle. We remained very close friends and I still am madly in love with him. I recently found out he had a new girlfriend and it broke my heart. I told him I can't talk to him anymore and he broke down saying that he loves me and wants to be with me...its just so hard because I am so far away. He confessed his passion and love for me...saying that he wants to be with me but we are just both living separate lives right now. I don't know what to do because I still love him so much and strongly feel like we will get back together someday. Does he realy still love me and is using this new girl for sex? He calls me all the time to check in and see how I am..tells me he misses me ad everything. I am so confused and emotionally torn! Any advice?

The girlfriend is definitely his way of filling up that empty space that you left in his heart. If you guys really have feelings for one another then I think that the distance should not really be problem. Or are you just looking for an excuse on not to get invovled because you love being single? Which ever the case, look at how he makes you feel, is the feelings for him genuine? If so, why aren't you guys together? Just because of a little distance, don't think so. If it is meant to be then there should be no obsticals in the path of love.

First off-sorry to hear about your break up. I know this sucks right now and you're confused by what he is telling you, but you need to find out what your values vs his are. Its easy to say you love someone (and he probably does still love you) Im just saying if hes going out with other chicks and still telling you he cares for you, its clear where his values lie. He obviously wants to see what else is out there, have some fun, and fulfill his own desires. He probably still cares 4 you so he doesnt want to loose your friendship. He is being selfish and I guess thats normal for a college age guy. My advice is to give him time/space to do whatever it is he thinks hes missing out on and let him go! If its meant to be, it will happen someday, but dont waste your time on someone who is clearly not ready for a serious relationship. If you want to marry someday look for guys who are looking and acting like they want the same things out of life that you do. Good Luck!

If he truly loves you he wouldn't be doing this to you, you sound like a good person and I'm sure life has more for you later on in life. You should talk to him and ask him to make a true choice, distance should not be the barrier for love. Its hard but you need to know if he really cares for you as he says, actions say much more than words, good-luck.

There are 3 billion men on this planet. What are the chances that more than one of them will fall in love with you while you fall in love with him? Huge.

Experience life. If he's still around, then see what happens. Ambivalence in a relationship (yes I want you, no I don't, yes I want you) is NEVER a good thing.
