I suppose a "God fearing" man does things to avoid the wrath and punishment of God, while a "God loving" man does things in his life because he actually loves God and is trying to please him.

The original word that was translated into English meaning 'God Fearing' actually meant to have great respect foe god, or to be in awe of God. A God Fearing man is a God Loving man.

Even the fallen angels and the demons in the bible feared God. They had knowledge of God but did not love Him. There are a lot of people on here that are like that. They know God exist but continue to deny HIM. A God loving man is a man after God's own heart, he seeks God while He may be found.

This can be taken in two contents.

A "God fearing" is sometimes referred to as a person who is afraid Gods going to get him if he does this or does that. This is sad, he lives his life afraid just to breath life. They are negative people. I was raised "Brimestone and Fire". It is sad. They run around angry a lot of times, and they view life as everything is sinful and your going to hell.

The other type of "God fearing" man is someone who makes you scared of everything. They normally use verbal abuse and physical abuse to wheel "Their Acts Of Will".

A "God loving" man is normally someone who looks at life in a positive kind, gentle way. They try to find good in life. It's good just to be alive, and if you have people to share life with that's even better. They will look at a storm and see maybe it's more rain than what is needed at one time, but the rain will go some place to someone that needed it and maybe that's the only way they could get it. They don't go just to a church on Saturday or Sunday, but they take the church with them being a good person where ever they go.

One of the great guiding principles of Islam is that the believer should tread a path between fear and hope. He should not take it for granted that he will enter Paradise, because this will make him complacent, and he does not know in what state he will die. Nor should he assume that he is going to Hell, because this is despairing of the mercy of Allaah, which is forbidden. So the believer does righteous deeds, and hopes that Allaah will reward him for them, and he avoids evil deeds out of fear of the punishment of Allaah. If he commits a sin, he repents in order to gain forgiveness and protect himself from the punishment of Hell. Allaah forgives all sins and accepts the repentance of those who repent. If a believer fears that the good deeds he has sent on before him are not enough, as you suggest, then he will increase his efforts, in fear and hope. No matter how many righteous deeds he has sent on before him, he cannot rely on them and take them for granted, or else he will be doomed. He keeps striving and hoping for reward, and at the same time he fears lest his deeds be contaminated with any element of showing off, self-admiration, or anything that will lead to them being rejected by Allaah

God fearing people fear hurting God. It's like being extra sensitive and reverent. God loving is an attitude of value.

When you were a child, did you not both fear and love your father? Love him because he was the reason you were here and because he was your dad, but fear him at the same time, because you knew he'd whup your **** if you screwed up? Same thing in religion, pretty much, but I imagine God hits a lot harder.

Its two sides to a coin. ...

God fearing allows you to avoid evil.. afraid to commit evil even if that evil tempts you..

God loving drives you to aspire for good.. you love to give wealth to the poor ... etc

You need to be both..

Some one can love god.. but commits sins.. ask any addict..
while on the other hand someone who just fears god does the bare essential.
