What is the meaning of life? It seems like it's the most paranoic, stupid and irrelevant question that one can ever ask. What is this meaning? What do we need it for? What good does it do? Maybe it would be better idea if we just enjoy our lives without dwelling into paranoia of searching for the meaning of live? I like the quote "A healthy person is interested in life, but a sick one is interested in its meaning"

Here's an idea of the meaning of life:

"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good or whether it be evil." (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14)

To ask the meaning of life is to find purpose. Without purpose one tends to eat a lot of munchies and practice asking "Would you like fries with that?" There are too many truths that evade answers and without these answers is is hard to progress through life contently. For most, the meaning of life is individual. For the rest the answer is 4.

Maybe your getting to heavy with the question. It might be like the meaning of my life is to "_______" Not a general question like the meaning of "all" life. I think it is okay to question your life occasionally just to see if you are on the right track or veering into a crash and burn. I don't look at it as a HEAVY question, just another thing to give a little thought to once in a while. Then just move on to the next thought or pondering.

be more clear on your quote healthy versus sick. i never heard that one. it's pretty healthy to wonder what your meaning in life is. how can you make life better for all, while you are here living yours seems like a valid and good question to me. what good does it do, you ask. the good is that it makes us try to make the world a better place for all of us instead of just the ones who look for what's in it for them, the ones who only care for themselves, of which you may be one. you thought asking about the meaning of life was the most stupid question? you should reread yours.

Another quote in the same direction is: "The meaning of life is learning how to live it even though you don't know what it's meaning is" (or something like that).

The Meaning of Life
Why are we here? What's life all about?
Is God really real, or is there some doubt?
Well, tonight, we're going to sort it all out,
For, tonight, it's 'The Meaning of Life'.

What's the point of all this hoax?
Is it the chicken and the egg time? Are we just yolks?
Or, perhaps, we're just one of God's little jokes.
Well, ça c'est le 'Meaning of Life'.

Is life just a game where we make up the rules
While we're searching for something to say,
Or are we just simply spiralling coils
Of self-replicating DNA. Nay, nay, nay, nay, nay, nay.

In this 'life', what is our fate?
Is there Heaven and Hell? Do we reincarnate?
Is mankind evolving, or is it too late?
Well, tonight, here's 'The Meaning of Life'.

For millions, this 'life' is a sad vale of tears,
Sitting 'round with rien nothing to say
While the scientists say we're just simply spiralling coils
Of self-replicating DNA. Nay, nay, nay, nay, nay, nay.

So, just why-- why are we here,
And just what-- what-- what-- what do we fear?
Well, ce soir, for a change, it will all be made clear,
For this is 'The Meaning of Life'. C'est le sens de la vie.
This is 'The Meaning of Life'.

There is no meaning to life... it just IS.

Man struggled with this question for centuries before giving it a name... GOD... and then many of them wrote about it so it would be in writing for all time. Why do you think there are so many religious texts from different countries? Not because god is real and he inspired them all but because the need to believe in something bigger than ourselves is UNIVERSAL.

So... we just ARE... and then we AREN'T... and that is the meaning of life.

I agree with you, everyone who wants the answer will never find out because unless God (or whatever you do or dont believe in) comes down to earth and answers it, are we all seriously going to change our lives to fit that? we are allready stuck in our ways and everyone already knows the meaning of their lives anyways, mine is to be a good person and be happy. the meaning of life in my opinion is just a belief that you come to on your own. this was a great question thanks for finally asking it.
