Even if you have legitimate disputes (a good way to clean up a report) it takes a long time to get the three credit bureaus to investigate and update those disputes. Unfortunately there is no "hurry" advice that any of us can offer you. You are not the only person who would ideally want to start over but it's just not going to happen. Stay on top of your current expenses, get copies of your reports from all 3 credit bureaus and examine them for errors, and don't let history repeat itself. Your legitimate credit history stays on record for 7 years.

buy a car [someone somewhere WILL finance you - the rate will suck, but do it anyway]

make the payments on time

that still takes time, but your credit score will jump significantly higher as that auto loan gets paid off

NOT a buy here, pay here place - get a lending institution to do it so that it will be reported to the credit agencies [you WILL be paying like 22% interest, but the score will shoot up the fastest if your payments are on time]

refinance car for better rate after score improves [talking like a year - 18 months]

Dispute anything negative on your credit report even if its legit. Many times you can get items removed if the reporting party simply does not reply to your dispute within 30 days! Give it a try!
