personally, i'd rather know someone through friends, but socializing these days is crazily hard and people are getting more and more individualistic.

I prefer to meet people thru friends. If I just meet a guy in a club or whatever, I'm always a little nervous about him being a serial killer or something. When I lived in a bigger city, I did occasionally get together with guys I met that way but nothing ever came of it. I don't really have that option here because the only strangers in town are tourists.

Not only is it a good idea to meet someone at a public place. Especially if you are meeting for time, it is also prudent to do so. Until you know a woman inside and out, don't invite her to your place until you know she isn't a psycho.

I think its best to meet them as friends first ,either by computer or phone get to know them alittle better before you meet them .get to know this person alittle before you see them can be interesting .good luck
