There is absolutely a correlation between poverty and some types of terrorism. Suicide bombings is an excellent example: Disenfranchised youth, with no education, no job prospects, and no real future to speak of are susceptible to manipulation of their religious beliefs to the point that they will destroy themselves to carry out a terrorist bombing mission.

It seems that the act of terrorism is only likened to people versus people. I believe that poverty is man against the oh so worshiped dollar.

We strive each day to earn our little bit of money that we can use to feed, clothe, and live a better life for.

I would believe when we view the world in a generality, yes poverty is the result of the terrorism of the dollar. It has a hold on us as it is the only means of survival in this rough world.

Not necessarily. The British-born Pakistani (and Muslim convert) terrorists were not poor, they were educated middle class.

Terrorism causes poverty: by and large terrorist organizations are corrupt. While providing social services, they destroy the commercial infrastructure of a country or region, kiling jobs. Why? Because poverty makes the population totally dependent upon those social services, upon the Hezbollah or the IRA or the drug traffickers or the warlords . . .

Yes, lack of opportunity and poverty can drive people to follow those who promise them something better and give them something to strive for.
Many rich Muslims fuel terrorism by promising money and glory to young jihadists. Likewise they are jealous of those who have more.
That is zero sum economics thinking though and is based on false assumptions. For one to have more, someone else DOES NOT have to have less. Both can have abundance especially with so many created resources like computers etc.

Terrorists with unlimited wealth manipulate the empoverished masses with promises of better housing, money, food, sanitation, and a better life. It's a total con.

For instance, Pablo Escobar (Colombia's most notorious drug cartel king) built entire communities for the poor, offering them housing, food, clothing, sanitation, and many other life-sustaining ammenities. The poor people considered him a savior, and not the cold-hearted, ruthless killer that he really was. When a terrorist gains the loyalty of the poor masses, he can easily incite a civil war.

No, look at the guys in England. They were college students or grads from Middle class families. So poverty doesn't matter, it's the stupidity.
