My wife has auburn hair and what she did was to get about three different shades of highlights all streaked in together, along with a tiny little bit of red. But don't over-do it or you will look like a zebra.

I work with a lady who had blonde highlights put in her hair and they look great. So I would say blonde. But don't go to light.

get chestnut or chocolote brown color highlights! black might be nice but it is so hard to get rid of it afterwards and ur hair would require a lot of bleaching for blond hair i guess. auburn is like reddish and it is so hard to get blonde from reddish colors, they may not be able to get the blonde color during one appointment!

definitly golden highlights...i think black is to harsh. Golden highlight, esp with auburn hair, makes your skin look gorgeous and adds a natural glow.

don't go for black OR blondish!

i would suggest honey and caramel highlights and medium and dark brown lowlights. you want to look natural, and having such dramatic streaks in your hair won't look ANYWHERE close to natural!

hope all is going well!

I dont think you should go up, i think darker hair is sexier so i think you should go with dark brown (close to black but still brown)lowlights.

Blonde or some other colour with slight goldish hue. This would fit auburn better.

I would say a caramel color, or something closer to a golden color. Nothing too blonde. If you are really worried than you should ask a professional.
