Oh dear. Reading just the Bible in no way prepares you to function in our modern society.

Point out the verse that explains how god created the big bang (which contrary to popular belief goes perfectly with the bible) or the one that describes a rainbow as an alignment of colors passed through a prism instead of god's promise that the world will never again be destroyed by floods (instead of that colors are in all white light and the base colors are ROYGBIV). The bible doesn't contain ALLthe important answers (although even from a non christian point of view contains much wisdom). You need to know your modern history, (to prevent the same monumental disasters which our president is not privy to aka vietnam; The great depression; Mellonism which caused the latter) How to display your ideas in a rational way (english) and how to be open minded (philosophy) also if we all went by dueteronomy with no privacy...I am sure we would all be put to death or blind for eye for an eye (which if you read into Hammurabi's code was around long before any mention of Moses another example of what you do need to know from school)

Well, you are right, you can learn everything from the bible, and makes you a good person if you apply the bible guidelines. the bible contains math, science, history, and foretold. for example: At a time when there were wrong Ideas about the shape of the earth, the bible referred to it as a circle or a sphere. Isaiah 40:22
and before the scientist knows what is the condition of the earth and shape, the bible is already already knows it. Job 25:7 brings out that the earth 'hangs on nothing. of course, the bible is not a textbook. but when it touches on scientific matters, it is accurate and reliable. it's account are specific.

But like I said everything is there in the bible you name it, the counsel it's not only old fashion as most people say, it also apply in our modern times.

Going to school is not wrong of course, but it's up to you or anybody's idea.

Nice question, although I suspect you ask with tongue in cheek. At school you will hopefully enhance your commonsense, logic and knowledge of fact, rather than learn about the Loch Ness Monster which will hardly help you much in later years.

The Bible is really just a fake story, perhaps a bit like the Loch Ness monster tales.

When we pass on information to another (example: story, joke, description of something etc) by the time these details are passed on by word of mouth, interpreted by others, and then written down, the final details are typically quite different than the original information.

Since the Bible is just a man-made story passed down over many years in various forms, the chance of it being accurate in any shape or form is remote.

There are people who swear blind that the Loch Ness monster exists regardless of all the evidence to the contrary, but a fence post bobbing up and down in the Loch does the trick. Similarly there are people who swear blind that God exists and the Bible is fact, yet there isn’t one blind bit of evidence to support such theories.

Biblical tales are really no different than Loch Ness monster tales, just the era is different.

There’s a big difference between the God Monster and the Loch Ness Monster. There’s no evidence the Loch Ness Monster (for Nessie believers) has harmed, eaten, killed or murdered a human being. However there is plenty of evidence that the God Monster (for religious believers) has murdered hundreds of human beings, just read the Bible.

Now, do you really want to learn all about the violence in the Bible? There are plenty of other "much better" thrillers around based on fact rather than the cheap insulting and offensive fiction of the Bible.

Tommy T,

The Bible does not answer every question that there is. For example if i wanted to know how to fix a car i wouldn't consult a bible but i would consult an automobile repair manual.

It's pretty interesting how man thinks that Psychology has the answer for many problems. And amazing the word Psychology is made of two words- logos (the study of) and Psyche (Soul), amazingly psychology is said to have the answers for our soul (regarding guilt, and other things) and the Bible is the answer.

The Bible contains the wisdom that God wants us to have to live according to His standards and to have a healthy soul. God does not address every single issue, but he does give principles that apply to almost every issue we can encounter.

Going to school is part of growing up and learning and quite important in society to getting a job.

i hope this helps. Stay in School,

Nickster

All we need to do is read that Bible all day, sit around and talk to Jesus. There is no such thing as science. All so-called scientists are liars. There’s no point in even trying to classify species or learn their history it’s all made up for laughs. Chemistry, biology, physics just a crock. The universe runs by magic, and the Earth is its center.

Cheers

if you don't go to school, then how do you know to start "reading" the bible? Think about that.

Your question is based on a false premise: not everything (or even most things) worth knowing is in the bible. And not everything in the bible is worth knowing.

Sing it brother. Christians should stay home or in the monastery and pray or become wandering preachers like the fraud of Jesus and the disciples. (Actually they were wandering zealots and brigands, and didn't care about anything but enforcing Mosaic law or else. Essenes). Anything else is being disingenuous and hypocritical. They should also mind their own business and stay out of politics and the modern world.
