if your both shy, and it's been a year, when you finally do talk to her, it will be a years worth of nervousness, I can just imagine, you practicing what your gonna say to her for days, working yourself up. It sounds tortourous. Here is a better idea, send her flowers with a card that says, I would really like to get to know you better, call me. sign it, don't forget your number. If she doesn't call you, then you just saved yourself some pain, but women love flowers, she'll call you for sure.

Some time offer to buy her a soft drink. While you are both refreshing yourselves see if you can find something to talk about.

Weather is always a good start. Classes might be another. Chances are she'll be glad to talk to you and just see where chemistry takes you.

Don't expect too much but don't sell yourselves short either.

Shyness is sweet.

Wish I could go back to being shy.

try asking her something bout her...her interests, find something in common to make a conversation about...
if this is at school, talk to her bout school stuff if youre unsure, or same thing if you work with her...that never fails...just gotta strike up a conversation
and dont be scared, im sure shes interested too

Well maybe ask her if she wants to hang out... You don't want to lay it on to strong that ur feelin her... So ask her out to movie or dinner etc... And see where it goes from there... Oh and be urself... And it doesn't turn out the way u wanted then it wasn't mean to work out but have fun and just go wit it...

Good Luck

i don't think there's a problem... some women are shy because they like you.. so be the first to say "hey, i'm .... do you want to grab a bite?" or whatever.. ask her out.. maybe she's just waiting for you to ask her

Just go up to her say your name (if she doesn't already know it that is), and start up a conversation. Please don't just go up to her and automatically ask if she had a boyfriend. At least as me and most of my friends are concerned, its a definite minus on the point system.
