Have you ever seen the movie "28 Days Later"? To me, that is horribly realistic... even more so than all the other movies of the same type/genre. It was almost too hard to watch... especially the aftermath involving the survivors. I think the aftermath was worse than the raging zombies. This movie showed human nature at its worst...
I will never forget the part where the soldiers wanted to re-populate the human race and were going to force themselves on a 14 year-old-girl so they could impregnate her. The other surviving girl, who was in her mid-twenties/early thirties, was trying to dope the fourteen year old girl up on prescription drugs so she wouldn't have to endure the "rape" totally conscious....
... god... it was hard to watch...

Have you ever seen the movie "Flesh and Blood"? It was about the Black Plague. That movie was also hard to watch... It was very harsh... And probably has a very accurate portrayal of how life was in the aftermath of the Black Plague (imho). And the scary part... the Bubonic Plague is the real thing. It supposedly wiped out 1/3 of the population of Asia and Europe.

i could prefer to do comparable to they did interior the unique 70's video clips.
