No, I'm not saying if they had accepted Jesus as their messiah. In the rock opera, "Jesus Christ Superstar", Caiaphas laments, "I see bad things arising, the crowd crown him king, which the Romans would ban, I see blood and destruction, our elimination, because of one man." What if Caiaphas didn't see bad things arising? And for the people telling me that it had to happen, then surely Judas, Caiaphas, Annas, the other unnamed priests, Pontius Pilate, the Romans, and the Jews who mocked him are not responsible for the fate of their souls. If they go to hell for acting "as the scriptures predicted", then how can their damnation be justified?

Caiaphas as High Priest said that it was better for one man to die than the people perish. In that way he made Jesus the sacrifice for the covenant people. When Pilate asked Jesus if he was the King, Jesus replied "you say I am." With the Romans mockingly putting the inscription on the cross, he was recognized politically as King.

So at his death he was as the crowned King of the Jews by Rome and sanctioned as the Lamb of God by the High Priest. Any other way would not have achieved these goals.

How different would it be if you did not exist? This is a meaningless question since you do exist. And according to the New Testament, Jesus was executed by the Romans at the request of the Jews. This is a "fact" within the Christian belief system.

Had Jesus not been crucified, that would not show he was God. This was a fulfillment of old testiment prophesy. Interestingly Caiaphas helped prove that Jesus was God.

Though I should clarify that Jesus was crucified because he was God, not vice versa.

All humanity would be dead in their sins. Salvation wouldn't exist. But Caiaphas was in control of the events, God was, and it was His plan from the foundation of the world.

Are you saying that Jesus Christ was accepted as their Messiah thus the world would be changed?

Whoever produced Jesus Christ Superstar is gayer than Michael Flatley.

It's sort of a moot point. All that happened was foretold and prophesied to happen, there was no way it was not going to happen. If Jesus had not died on the cross, we would still be dead in our sins.

Not that much different, Jesus' teachings would have been the same either way. His death isn't the important part, his were/are.

It has to happen to fulfil the prophesy.

Christianity wouldn't exist, which would be fan-f'ing-tastic. I wasted too much of my life on that stuff.
