I am studying the deisgn of "roaster", but I have never used it before..and it's not a traditional cookware of Asian living style. please let me know...the way that people use it , see it, value it...and how often and what occasion to use it, mostly use it with chicken, beef , and what else..if there's anything that is specific for this product to stand for in the cookware market, and anything you think it's special for telling me by this chance.. i have noticed there're some like" rival" is a big brand..but how come it's only making 12-22QT large size roaster...? how big is the regular chicken in US?

there's one thing called" basting" .. add the juicy gravy on the food while it's cooking in the roaster...i hope someone can explain all this to me.. how to do it with what accesories? and how much to add? how often to add? and is it a very importnat part for a roaster to be roaster? thanks

Treat it like a table-top oven. They feature a removeable pan, a lid, a wire rack, and a temperature control. You can cook a soup directly in the removeable pan, or you can add the wire rack to the pan (don't use it without the pan, it catches drips) and bake food without touching the bottom.

Roasting is a slow baking process. Most often, meat is flavored with sauce or spices and cooked at a lower temperature until it is done. The extra time to cook allows the flavor to soak in and softens the meat. Basting helps keep the surface from drying out, most people use a turkey baster (a syringe-like item with a suction bulb) to recycle the juices that drip into the pan.

A variation of the electric roaster is the Crock-Pot, which has two temperature settings and is designed to cook soup or stew all day. It is useful for a busy family: you can cut up the ingredients and add liquid in the morning, set it on low temperature, and have dinner ready when you return from work. The insert can be removed to serve at the table.

As for the size, turkey is a popular bird in the U.S. and is much larger than a chicken, so some roasters are made to accomodate them.

A roster is great. it can roast a lot of different types of food. My favorite food to roast is chicken. Good Luck with the studying.
