While I do not believe that "In God We Trust" should remain on money because it was only added 50 years ago, and we should honor the 1st Amendment, I am not a fan of pornography. It is degrading towards women, and it can harm relationships. However, as long as there is a demand and people are willing to degrade themselves for money, pornography is going to stay in business. The change has to be made in the hearts of the individuals who choose to engage in this behavior. Women and men both need to learn to respect themselves and each other. People are more than just sex objects.

Some might say that the liberal media is really just an anti christian movement, promoting secular, fringe lifestyles rather than the majority of family oriented, traditional family models.
Some might say it is simple commerce targeted towards over-sexed youth looking for an outlet. Sex sells.
Either way, its pretty obvious the masses are being manipulated, as most people can't make up their own minds about anything and follow popular culture just to fit it.
Money and power are the highest held values in western culture, unfortunately.

It's the ironies of life.
Banning pornography in the west is against human RIGHTs. But it is WRONG to allow it in the first place.
Some say pornography is like freedom of speech. But it is wrong to allow freedom to abuse, to slander.
One deviant leads to another. Look at where the west is today? A lot has gone terribly wrong in the name of human rights and freedom of speech. Simply because these 2 terms have been so badly mis-interpreted (to the convenience of certain groups) and abused.
Bottom line is that you are totally right in what you have observed with only the 4th point (women poorly handled by men) perhaps being somewhat debatable.

If you were a journalist being interviewed for a job, and the employer wanted you as a female and as part of your job description to occasionally do topless shots, and occasionally be groped by your co workers as others watched and video taped it, you would be down to the discrimination board in a flash, and there would be a public outcry. However put a label on it and call it art and somehow you can get away with anything in Hollywood.
How many actresses are forced to do things that would not be tolerated in the rest of society because they wont get picked for parts if they don't, and because it has been labelled "art" and so has become acceptable?
Many people have a very wrong understanding of freedom. Being forced to do porn as your only way to afford college is not freedom.

Women produce, write, and distribute pornography, too. It's not just men "victimizing" women. Women also buy porno. I'd hate to have that sexual free agency taken away from me. I love living in a society where I can say an informed yes or no.
I don't think it's uncivilized at all. It's a taste like any other. I personally don't like it, but that's my taste. I also don't like grape jelly or Faith Hill or Chamillionaire, but those are legal. "I wouldn't" doesn't necessarily have to lead to "you shouldn't."
Billions of "in God we trusts" are raked in by this industry every year.
An exception to my tolerance is child pornography, but that's more like "filmed evidence" than anything else. Children can't meaningfully consent.

The reason the western media as a whole allows it, is because the media is mostly run by unbelieving people who are only interested in making money and not in protecting the morals of our youth. We should get in there face and let them know that we are tired of all of there whore mongering and lack of respect for Gods teachings. Remember that God said that the love of money is the root of evil. We should all be ashamed of ourselves and of our media.

We are civilized, that why we outlaw child pornography and "snuff" films. We trust in God because He Himself gave us the freewill to do what we want with our lives as long as we know that He is our one and only God.
In our eyes or from the viewers point of view the women are being poorly treated and only used as sex objects. But, women in the adult film industry hold the power. Women say who they want to have sex with. Women say if they want to have protected or none protective sex. Women say how much they want to get paid. Women all in all control the porn industry.
Pornography can also be seen as art in motion. In a art museum in downtown Austin, TX. There is a hallway that dedicates itself to art in motion...and playing on TV screen is...pornography. Because to some individuals, pornography is not smut or trash but two consenting adults that chose to express themselves physically.
Pornography is not meant to be seen by everyone and if certain individuals don't like it then don't watch it. These films are mearly to entertain not to demoralize western society.

I think women are typically treated poorly, which is why we need to follow the teachings of the Bible for instruction here. The fact that the media allows it is just an artifact of a culture. I could point out things in other cultures that I would consider mistreatment that are socially accepted there.
That said, I do not feel it is the job of the government to enforce religious standards. It is their job to protect the people and the individuals job to follow Christ.

No one told the girls to run away from home. No one forced them to be quite about their abuse. No one told them to sleep with a decrepit old pervert in his mansion. Some are abducted and drugged, but the west is not the only place. Porn has been around as long as the oldest profession. Is is right? No. Will it change? No. Will men stop looking at the short skirt and low top? No. But does the average man want his mother, sister, wife, or daughter treated that way? NO. It is like anything else there are those people and then there is us. If those people are being exploited, oh well. As long as it is not next door. Plus it all comes down to supply and demand. Porn is only as depraved as those who are watching it.

Pornography isn't illegal because neither of them are braking the law. Two people having consensual sex in front of a camera is perfectly okay. Why is it always the women who is being demeaned for being in porn. Isn't the guy doing the same thing. Also learn some proper sentence structure.
