You probably mean Polygamy... Because we are a Monogamous Nation, well except in couple states where they believe that having more than 1 wife is a way to get to heaven... Even though that is illegal we look the other way..

What do you mean?
MONOGAMY = having only one spouse, is legal.
POLYGAMY = Having more than one spouse, would be illegal, at least in most civilized nations.
There are two more terms of this kind:
POLYANDRY = having more than one HUSBAND (male)
and
POLYGYNY = having more than one WIFE (female).
