As long as you don't leave the United States there is no need to stamp your passport.
Upon arriving in the United States from abroad, your passport will be stamped. For example, I flew into JFK in NYC a couple of weeks ago from London and my passport was stamped upon arrival at the airport.

By travelling domestically I assume you mean in the US, in which case they don't stamp your passport, nor do you need one. However, that seems a little to obvious, so maybe you mean travelling abroad throughout the same country, in which case you would only need to be stamped after your arrival if your crossing a checkpoint, which you probably won't.
When you leave a country abroad that your visiting you don't need your passport stamped upon exit, unless they've changed that recently. Since I'm not quite clear about the second part of the question I'll also say that your home country won't stamp your passport upon your return.
That should cover everything, but you might want to clarify your question.

Where are you going domestically that you would need your passport stamped. Do you mean a visa? I would contact my congressman/woman and see if where I am going "domestic" needs a stamp on the passport. OR talk to the airline they should tell u

No, there's no customs travelling domestically.
And returning nowadays, it's mixed. Some still stamp, but many do not. You might need to ask for a stamp if you'd like to get one!

the only country i know that stamps passports or has an immigration control within its borders are china and malaysia. if you go from peninsular malaysia to sabah and sarawak they stamp passports although it is just domestic travel. from china to hongkong, macau and shenzhen they also stamp your passport.
