What kind of dog is this, and what do you mean by breathing funny? While dogs will often eat grass when their stomach is upset, it will not make them feel any better, probably worse. If this is a large dog and his belly looks bloated contact your vet immediately, do not wait. If he is struggling to breath do the same. If you mean he is panting, that is often a sign of pain. Stop him from eating the grass, withhold all food and water for at least 4-6 hours to let his stomach settle. Check around the house to make sure he didnt get into anything. If you can give me more info I might be able to help more.

Dogs usually eat grass if they have a upset stomach. If he is not breathing right, make him comfortable, and keep him quiet for a while and see if that helps. If it don't or it gets worse, then call an emergency vet and ask them what it could be... best of luck to you

Somebody long time ago told me the dogs eat grass to clean their intestine.
About the funny breathing maybe he has allergy,I would suggest to bring him to see a vet.

usually dogs and cats eat grass when not feeling well or have stomach problems, as for the breathing problem it could be an upper respiratory infection

Dogs often eat grass when ill or their digestion is upset for whatever reason. You may want to take him/her to a vet if the problem persists.
