Now that you mention it, I don't think I've ever seen hair dyes at reguler stores for men. I have seen hair dyes at salon stores, from a normal hair color like sandy blonde to bright purple. You can buy some online at: http://hocks.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Session_ID=6646157e9c8878572b69f629afc7e758&Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=menshaircare if you feel okay and buy it online. But remember, hair is hair, no matter what sex. So those women dyes would probably work.
I know I'm not a guy, but I hope I helped a little. :)

Box dye is pretty much unisex its just advertised towards women, there are special product lines designed for men (ie. Just for men) but thats is an excuse to charge more. I would suggest going to a salon, if your hair is short (which i assume because of most men) then the price wont be as high as women. By using a box dye u have to figure in other factors, the picture wont be the result. Think back to art class and the primary color wheel, do you have old color on your hair? Say you previously dyed it blonde and now you want to go brown. Most browns are a blue base and your hair will mix with the yellow causing a green. If you havent colored your hair before, you have a good chance to get it like the box but its risky and a stylist would produce better results. if youre pinching pennies, go for the box otherwise, check out a salon.

Far more women color their hair. That's why women are on most products. Gender has little to do with hair dye except dye for facial hair and some products are made that are a little more foolproof but fade quicker. Go to the salon the first time so that you'll know what color to use on yourself before doing it on your own. Going back to the store or waiting for an appointment at a salon to fix a mistake can be an awful experience.

you've never heard of the color "just for men?" the color is still the same though! go by the color that you want, not by who's face is on the box. if you would rather, buy the color at a beauty supply store...they don't have anyones face on them!!!

I fairly have colored my hair platinum blonde many circumstances. All you're able to do is bleach it and tone it with a platinum toner. understand that any product you employ, is bleach and that's fairly damaging to hair, yet once you're no longer afraid, choose for it!
