Im going to my brother in laws wedding next month (we arent in the wedding at all) and I know that women arent supposed to wear white because it will compete with the bride. Does this just apply to dresses? I was thinking I would wear white pants and a white tank top, with a see through black long sleeve shirt...thing...over it. Is this to much white? I dont do dresses or dressing up so this was as nice as I could come up with =)

I'd wear the same to a Christmas mass if I were to go to them as well.

Its not so much a "tank top" as something to go under the black top. Its a black long sleeve button up top, the tank top wont be the focus at all. And I dont do dresses. Plus, its a casual outdoor wedding.

Dear BumbleLeigh,

The idea of a white dress isn't an issue. The rule is you don't want to out do the bride. Your makeup should be used sparingly. You don't want to be bland, but you don't want to be a clown either. Your attire should be consistent with the time of day as well as the season for the wedding. Usually, no white after Labor Day, but it is okay for an afternoon or daytime wedding. Only wear black for an evening wedding. And never ALL black. You're not at a funeral, you're at a wedding. It's fine to wear your white pants, but I would strongly discourage a tank top at any time. That's more appropriate for a tailgate party or a bar-b-que. Wear a nice top, with color, but not too loud. If it is an outdoor wedding, a nice sandal is okay with hose or evening make it a smarter top with pumps or any closed toed shoe. Always wear hose. I know it's a lot to swallow, but it's not that tough and you'll look great and it will be a wonderful occasion for all. Have fun,

Regards,
Raylene♥

as far i have never seen a bride in pants and top, so no problem for you and you are also wearing black on it. what matters is you should feel at ease but if the opinion of certain orthodox people at the wedding are going to affect you, then you better don't adventure.
enjoy yourself at the wedding

Just to be on the safe side I wouldn't wear white. At every wedding I've been to nobody wears white except for the bride

That'll be advantageous. i admire me a good toddler in formalwear, although this is great duper no longer needed. Frankly, pajamas are perfect wedding ceremony placed on for a newborn that small. yet, in case you certainly need to do the toddler suit element I particularly propose consignment shops or ebay. teenagers placed on that form of element as quickly as so i may well be prepared to guess you will get some thing with 0 placed on and tear.

I'm sure it would be OK.
The bride wears ALL white.
What I've never understood are the girls who dress like their going to a night club (or street walking). This is a church like affair & you should wear something appropriate to wear to Christmas Mass.

I'd think it would be OK as long as you keep the black shirt on over it. Sounds like you'd look nice.

Hmm, how about breaking out a dress, or skirt? What you suggest sounds much too casual and, obviously, too white.
