A yellow blind would look good or maybe white.. i think vertical would be nice. At http://www.justblinds.com they have some really good prices on custom blinds, and can get almost any color. Don't get print cause you never know if you are going to change your room later and a single colored blind can fit in better in a new room where as a printed blind may not then you have to buy new blinds again.
Good luck

I also have light yellow painted walls on my whole first floor...living room, dining room and kitchen. It would depend on what "other" color you're bringing into the room. I chose the color of deep red. It is a nice contrast with the yellow. Red couch for living room, matching carpet for stairs and red decorative pieces throughout kitchen and living room. My floor is a bleached parquet floor which goes with just about anything. My blinds match the floors. You can go with printed blinds as long as it has the yellow color from your walls. Try to blend the walls with the floors and window treatment for a brighter and spacious look. White goes with anything, too!

Go with white blinds and white doors and trimming. And for a stunning look, try black and white tiles in a checkerboard fashion. Put one of those plush white rugs at your bedside. Maybe a black bedspread with 2 or 3 white round ruffle (or rose covered) pillows. And for the baby; a white crib, pastel yellow crib sheets, white blanket, and a bumper pad and bedding set out of a black and white pattern and a black and white crib mobile. This will tie your room together with a clean coordinating look and besides, babies are fascinated with black and white. Good luck!

Go with the vinyl tiles that look like marble. The larger tiles. Go for a white/grey marble look. On the windows, either use off white plantation shutters or off white curtains with light grey tie backs to accent the floor.

Since you newly married & are going to share the room with your child then I think you should make the room bit colorful yet not jarring. If you like classic style then you may consider to allot a corner for your child and make that colorful. Hope that helps.

white blinds and a yellow room would be best,
cream blinds would have no contrast and be very boring.
I painted a light yellow room, with dark blue, and sand accents. It makes me think of the beach.

i would suggest white, or maybe off white, sometimes hunter green can really set off yellow as long as you don't overdo it
