technically speaking and any cop with half a brain will tell you this...that TV belongs to you, you dont have to give it to him at all, i'd take it to a pawn shop myself...but thats me...i know if i gave a girl i was dating something i wouldnt want it back when the relationship ended...i'd just want to move on with my life and let the past die....but if you do give it back i say you get a box for it...take a hammer to the screen then FedEx it back to him with a note that says...."when i put this in the box it was in perfect condition....if it is damaged its not my fault....sucks to be you and stay out of my life for good!!!"

do what you think is right. If he gave it to you 1yr ago the he's just trying to get bad into your life, or get back at you for dumping him. he doesn't have any right to it. you can say no or be a bigger person than him and give it back and tell him thats the last string to hold you two together and it is now broke and GOOD-BYE. it isn't worht the hassle to keep it.
He shouldn't even ask for after a year but some people are that way
I gave some a very expensive birthday present and told her my feeling the same day. She kept the gift and made it known that she never wanted to see me again. it was a present and no reason to return it . the same thing goes for the TV no reason to return but to get him out of your life!!

Do you use the TV?
Is it a big deal to you?
If that is his email to you, it wasn't the typical "gimme my shi t back..." He may just want to start an open line of communication with you.
I was quite vindictive when i was younger. Here are a few examples....
I once did the "singles" classic move. I cleaned the toilet with his sweater and then returned it.
I repaid a $300 loan in change..... What? It's legal tender.
I posted up a pic in town of him in a dress. What? he lost the bet that put him in the dress to begin with. ROFLMA (I was only 16)

Strictly speaking, you don't owe him a thing. He gave you the tv, it's yours. Now, if he's hard up and looking for a little help and you're feeling generous (and you can spare the tv 'cause you have a better one), then go ahead and give him the tv. It'll do your soul good.
HOWEVER, if he's using it as a ploy to ask you out again, then FORGET IT!

I think that in this case, it's entirely up to you. If you have another TV, and don't mind him, then go ahead and let him have the other tv. However, if you don't want him to have it, then say no. If you've had the tv for a year, then it is technically yours to do whatever you want with.

After a year, he decides he wants his TV back...tell him you gave it to your little brother, or something. DON"T GIVE IT BACK.
This also sounds like it might be an invite back into your life.

If you want to get rid of him, give him the TV. If you want to get back together, get into an argument about it, finally give in, and jump him when he comes by to pick it up.

Let him have it back , My ex-finace has some of my stuff that now would be nice to have to share with my kids. But I do not want it back. Show him that your the nice girl he dated and return it it could be his way of trying to see you again.

If you don't have a need for it, and you keep it ... well I think thats a little vindictive.
That said, you may have reason to be vindictive. If its your only set, and there's no reason to be niced to the guy, oh well for him, keep it.
